We are creating this GoFundMe to honor Brooks Kennedy's memory & huge servant's heart. Because this was such an unexpected and quick loss, this will help his family to finalize and settle his affairs and estate. Anything left over will go to help his children and grandchildren, including schooling.


Brooks Milner Kennedy was born on January 3, 1948 in Martin, TN, and died on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Woodland Heights Hospital in Lufkin TX at the age of 73. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home, with burial of cremains in Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington TX.


Brooks graduated from Martin High School in Martin, TN in 1966, and went on to earn a BS from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and MS from Memphis State University. His occupations included Teacher, Minister, Technical Administrator, and Entrepreneur. He retired from Fort Worth Christian School, where he was a Teacher and Technical Administrator for a combined 30 years. He loved the church and all people. He used his gifts of technological expertise, teaching ability, generous spirit, and hopeful, positive vision to bless students, friends, and churches. He and his family were members of the churches at The Hills Church (formerly Richland Hills Church of Christ) in North Richland Hills TX, Dahlia St Church of Christ in Denver CO, Bethel Church of Christ and Martin Church of Christ in Martin TN, Northeast Church of Chirst in Greer SC, Whitehaven Church of Christ in Memphis TN, Western Hills Church of Christ in Fort Worth TX, and most recently Central Church of Christ in Lufkin TX.


Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Darin and Kimberly Kennedy of Lee’s Summit, MO, Derek and Carrie Kennedy of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Michael Kennedy and wife Helen of Pleasant Hill, MO, Daniel Kennedy of Lee’s Summit, MO, Clark, Lana, and Kara Kennedy of Fort Worth TX; sister, Laree Brewer of Martin, TN; and a number of other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry Milner Kennedy and Porter Brooks Kennedy, and wife, Jonceal Vanderford Kennedy.
