Leg surgery for Moja
Hi my name is Christina Rivera.
In 2014 I traveled to Eldoret, Kenya with a group from Alittle4alot and Beyond Fistula to do massage for women that had suffered from obstetric fistula and were recovering from fistula repair. It was on that trip that I met and became close friends with Sara who was a patient there. She was a single mom of two children Moha and Hafsa and has trained to be a seamstress to support her family.
When we met the kids were 6 and 4.
I have been supporting Moha and Hafsa's education since they began school and love this family so very much.
Unfortunately Moha now 13, was in an accident while out playing and injured his leg. The injury has caused the knee joint to slip out to the side when standing or walking and has left him in significant pain. His mom has been told that he needs surgery to repair it.
Their family has no medical insurance and his mom can not afford to have the procedure. The cost of the surgery is estimated to be 179000 kes or $1900 usd. She must be paid for 1/2 prior to surgery and 1/2 after. I cannot afford to continue paying their school fees and also cover this bill for surgery. We are asking for your help to pay for Moha's surgery and help support the family so Sara can stay home with him while he is recovering.
Moha is a smart, funny, active boy. He is working hard at school and is learning English. He likes to fix things and hopes to get a job using that skill in the future.
His future is so bright!!
Please help Moha get his mobility and health back.
