Insurance cancelled my policy, I've been left with this bill

Hello, my name is Dan and as many of you may know, I've been through hell and back health wise in recent years. I’m not usually the person to ask for help but right now I don’t have much choice.

Having survived rhabdomyolysis, compartment syndrome, severe kidney issues and multiple bouts of sepsis, I moved to Thailand to heal both physically and mentally. But unfortunately due to a weakened immune system, I've been in an out of hospital dealing with various infections and complications ever since.

In November 2024, I was diagnosed with chronic prostatitis and peptic ulcers in my stomach which required an extended period of around 2 weeks of hospitalisation in order to apply the necessary medication intravenously. Unfortunately, now 4 months down the line the ulcers and prostatitis are back and worse than ever. With severe internal bleeding, I was admitted to hospital and required to undergo surgery as soon as possible to stop the bleeding and heal everything else.

Upon being admitted, I contacted my insurance company and was notified that as they considered my condition to be pre-existing and therefore would not be covering any of my medical expenses, leaving my policy void. Left without any coverage or the ability to find another provider, I woke up after surgery to a bill of £13,000. This includes all doctor appointments over the past couple of weeks, the surgery and other hospital fees.

I'm not here looking for sympathy but I am truly in need of any support and help you can offer. Even the smallest of donations at this time would make the biggest of differences.

I'm so grateful for the love, kindness and warmth those around me have given, I'd be lost without it. The messages, the check ins. Everything.

Hopefully now this surgery is over, I can begin the process of rebuilding my life and health, but in order to do that I really need your help.
