Hi, my name is Marci. My fiancé and I are getting married in December 2025, and we need some help.

One of the biggest and most important vendors for any wedding is the photographer — the person you trust to capture memories that will last a lifetime. We booked ours December 2024, signed a contract, and paid a deposit. Everything seemed set.

But over time, communication started slipping. Eventually, she stopped responding altogether. No replies to emails, voicemails, or messages. She’s completely disappeared, and we’ve been left without a photographer… and without our deposit.

We’ve since had to book and pay for someone new, which has left us with double the cost. We’d love to pursue small claims court to try and recover what we lost, but the contract we signed says the deposit is “non-refundable” — and we’re not sure if we have a legal case since she ghosted us instead of officially canceling.

This GoFundMe is to help us cover the unexpected cost of hiring a new photographer, and possibly afford the legal fees to fight for the money we lost. We hate that it’s come to this, but every little bit helps — even if it’s just sharing this with someone who might understand.
