Left Foot Amputation and Recovery Assistance

Hello Everyone,

To those of you who don’t know who I am. My name is Jason Cortes Sr.. I am a Set Dresser in the film and television industry. I am a Local 52 member who was in a major motorcycle accident on May 3, 2021. All of you that know me, know that I have been through some serious changes in my life due to the accident and had to deal with a ton of pain while trying to take care of my family back home and work as hard as I possibly could. Well after 2 and 1/2 years of struggling, unfortunately I have to have my foot amputated on January 5, 2024. I know times are rough for everyone in the film industry. I am asking you for your help and prayers that I can recover as quickly as possible. Financially I am struggling to keep food on the table and my bills paid. I have never liked to ask for help but I have no choice but to ask again. I am saying bye to a part of my body and don't really know what the outcome will be but I pray for the best. If you all can find it in your hearts to please help me and my children keep our home and food in their stomachs it would be greatly appreciated. Family and friends, brothers and sisters of Local 52, I am reaching out to you all asking for your help. Please, I am scared and again I know times are hard and money is tight but anything will help.
