Lee's Fight

Lee is currently in Hamilton in the ICU fighting for her life.  As a friend I am starting this page because they have had an extremely difficult journey and will continue to have a long hard road ahead.  Between the time off work and the traveling back and forth between the out of area hospital and home, the financial strain is large. No family should have to go through this. 

This family needs your help!  

  Many of you know that after years of dialysis Lee finally got the call she had been waiting for and in February 2016 she underwent a kidney transplant.  At the same time Rob was able to save the life of a stranger by donating his kidney.  This is called a living donor.  

  Lee, Rob and their 10 year old daughter Ava were going to embark on a new beginning starting with a move from Guelph to Elora.   Lee was really looking forward to being able to spend the time that was taken away with her daughter again.  Lee was doing so well and enjoying life as it should be for the next 10 months. 

  In October 2016 Lee was unwell and needed another surgery to remove a parathyroid tumour.  Unfortunately since that time Lee was not able to recover fully and signs of transplant rejection were starting to set in.  A month ago Lee was admitted back into the hospital in the hopes of saving her new kidney.  Unfortunately this did not happen and Lee continued to deteriorate and her new kidney could not be saved.  With all of the different medications that she has been on this has caused serious side effects on her body.  A week ago Lee started to hemorrhage and now she is fighting for her life with Rob and Ava fearing the worst.
