Want to join me in making a difference? I'm swimming from Asia to Europe in August 2022 to raise money to benefit Rural Communities Development International, Inc, rcdii.org; and any donation will help make an impact to the lives, health and well-being of thousands of people in rural communities in Ghana. The swim is 4 miles across the Bosphorus in Istanbul, Turkey, from the Asian side to the European side.

RCDII is the brainchild of my colleague, Dr E Kwame Obeng. The team is committed to providing rural communities with improved educational and healthcare facilities. RCDII partners with local community leaders, individual families, academic institutions, faith-based organizations and other non-profit charitable organizations to assess the needs of each community. All parties then work together to develop a service plan, set specific goals and determine the available assets and resources. A targeted project plan is developed, which utilizes local resources and organization funds to produce life-changing results for the communities. Projects include the construction of educational facilities, healthcare centers, clean drinking water and sanitation projects.
RCDII’s initial focus is in the village of Kwahu Oda, located in the Kwahu West district in the Eastern region of Ghana. By the middle of 2022, the construction of a Junior High School building for the village of Kwahu Oda will be completed. This is a significant milestone for RCDII and Kwahu Oda, and I am striving to ensure the team has funds to enable them to progress with their further inspirational projects.
Thank you for your support - I better get back to the pool....
