Hi,

 

Leela and I are asking for your help to raise money for all the tests she's already undergone and will have more to come so that she can walk again.

 

About a month ago, she was reluctant to walk, in pain, with a very stiff gait. She couldn't get in the van, on the couch or onto the bed. She was very lethargic and couldn't do all the things a typical almost 2-year-old puppy should be able to do. Five different ERs and two neurologists have evaluated Leela. Unfortunately, the two diagnoses and treatments haven't helped her. We are now in need of an MRI, CT scan, CFS (spinal tap), and more lab work. If we are lucky, the MRI will give us a more definitive diagnosis, and she can be on the mend and back to everyday life with rehab and much love and prayers.

 

I have had to stop working b/c she needs 24/7 care. I cannot continue doing Stay and Trains while traveling in my RV. I will not be able to work as usual until she can travel with me again, if she even will be able to travel in the RV again. If not, I'll need to reassess our life as we need to, depending on her diagnosis and treatment.

 

Fundraising has never been something that I've needed to do, but when I realized that we weren't getting anywhere with her current treatments and that more tests, expensive test are needed, I had to dig deep, get out of my own way and ask for help. This is a life-changing journey for me/us. Any amount you can give will be so much appreciated and we thank you; Leela thanks you from the bottom of her huge heart.

 

Leela's been amazing through this ordeal, being manipulated, poked and prodded. Everyone loves her. She's got a heart of gold and has endured so much for her already challenged body. I am in awe of her ability and capacity to continue to love everyone she meets in all the hospitals she's been to over the past 5 weeks.
