My name is Lee,

I am 16 years of age and I’ve been an avid surfer for 3 years. Surfing almost every week with my friend Zac in Sydney, Australia.

The first wave I caught had me up and riding and I was hooked, despite the struggle of being beginner level.

My dad recently told me that 9 months into my surfing journey, he wasn’t sure if I was going to get better - but I knew that surfing was the thing I loved doing, I know that it’s something I will continue for the rest of my life.

I persevered, and now I am at a level where I’m starting to become a competent surfer.

With some recent milestones that I’m very proud of.

My dad drove me & my surfing partner/best friend Zac, down to the beach for almost every surf as he could see what surfing was doing for me. My dad has been with me as I’ve progressed and now here I am.

Planning a surf trip to Indonesia with Zac and his dad who’s a Sydney bodyboarding legend.

We plan to go next year in April, staying for 20 days. Left and right split peak wave right out front of the resort.

For my birthday (13 Nov) I have managed to get a loan and some birthday money together to book the flights - with that being less than a third of the cost, I’ve decided that outside of my inconsistent job as a surf coach, me and Zac are going to do some busking, playing guitar and singing with Zac on the drums which is both a passion of ours. We started busking about 3 weeks before the start of this GoFundMe.

I not only have to save for expenses like food and basic necessities but also for a new high performance shortboard as mine was snapped 3 months ago this including surfboard fins, leashes, traction pads/wax, travel packaging (suitcase, board bag etc.) because I haven’t traveled since I was a little kid, plenty of sunscreen and zinc (mums orders ), long sleeved rashie with a hood, overweight baggage limit cost and a few more things which are unseen as of now.

Im also a full time student studying for my Year 11 education in TAFE, preparing for year 12 with a lot on my plate.

For that reason I’m starting a GoFundMe, to give me the little bit of extra support that I will need to save towards the total cost of the trip.

I also am hoping to start uploading again on my YouTube when I get the time and film a complete Indonesian experience surfing mini-series.
