After surgery on my eye socket on the 18th, I was is a little bit of pain. But now it is easing off pretty good. The swelling is down quite a bit actually. Now I am wearing glasses and can see well.
I am actually on the way to the eye doctor right now for a check up. Then I’ll be going to the Bake Shop for lunch today if anyone wants to join me. Thank you all for you care and prayers.

And here's the news about his most recent surgery. This is a few days old. He's recovering very well.

"Lee is on his way home and the surgery went well. They put a plate on the floor of the right eye socket. Apparently he lost some bone and tissue in his accident. His eye was not able to close completely, but now it does! The plastic surgeon also removed the stitching that was on his face so he looks really good now. He saw Orthopedics this morning and they removed the stitches in his foot and are pleased with how his foot looks. It has been a long but good day."

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed to help Lee. Here's the link to a great TV news interview by our local ABC affiliate. Here's the link if you missed it:

Lee's story of the crash:
“Hey Everyone! Thank the good Lord that I am alive! A slight mistake on takeoff was all it was.

I was at a friend’s house for supper at his private airstrip. The last thing I remember is playing rook. The friend said that I told him that I was going to hover, turn 180 degrees, then depart down his runway to the south, which would have cleared all trees in the area. This was in the dark of course. Instead, I hovered, turned 160 degrees and departed and hit a tree.

I remember seeing a flash of a pine tree. At this point, I was 50-60’ in the air. Somehow, the helicopter came down. Somehow, the helicopter stayed level. Somehow, I unbuckled my seatbelt. And somehow, I walked away from the helicopter myself.

If any one of these “somehow” things had not happened, I would not be here. I feel so blessed to have so many friends that are more than willing to say a nice word, to offer a prayer, to pay a visit or offer a helping hand. Thank you all very much!”
