Dear Saratoga Friends,

As many of you have heard, one of our Saratoga families lost their home to a fire this week. Young-Joon, Jean, Matthew, and Allison Lee have touched many of our lives in the Saratoga community. Jean has served on the PTA board at Argonaut Elementary school and has been a Parent Team Lead and financial coordinator for Redwood Robotics club at Redwood Middle School. Young-Joon has also volunteered as a Parent Team Lead for Redwood Robotics and their family has actively participated in the music program at SUSD. Both Matthew and Allison have grown up with our children in SUSD and always have a smile on their faces. This has been a heartbreaking tragedy and hardship for the Lee Family. The house fire destroyed everything - photos, memorabilia, books, clothes, kitchenware, furniture, computers, etc. Only the garage and cellar were spared, and most thankfully, no one was injured. The Lee family needs our help to rebuild their lives. Any funding, no matter how small the donation, would greatly help relieve some of the financial stress. Besides donations, their most immediate needs are the following: (1) temporary housing with a short-term rental lease, (2) an insurance lawyer to help them navigate the financial aspects of recovering their home equity.
