It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we share the tragic, unexpected death of Lee Boone who passed away on Saturday morning, April 1, 2023. Lee was a devoted husband and father, who cherished his family above all else. In addition to his love for his family, Lee was an adventurer at heart. Lee soared through the air, rode the wind through the water and will always be remembered as someone who followed his dreams and inspired others to do the same. Lee will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We have created this fundraiser to help his family during this difficult time. All donations will be going to his wife Erika and daughters, Blu and Scout.

Lee perished when his powered hang-glider trike unexpectedly entered a fast spin and crashed. It is very unlikely this was pilot error, and we expect the NTSB investigation will reveal equipment failure was the root cause.

Lee flew many types of aircraft. He flew flex-wing hang gliders, he flew an Exxstasy. He flew a kit experimental aircraft until he sold it a few years back. He owned a Cessna 175 and he greatly enjoyed flying with his family. He flew powered paragliders, free flight paragliders, as well as the weight shift hang glider trike. He flew his paraglider in XC competitions in Texas and Florida. He was a master of the air.
