June 28, 2008, my sister, Lauren Brian lost her battle with cancer. Lauren was one semester away from achieving her life's passion of becoming a Spanish Teacher. In honor of her memory, our family created the Lauren Brian Future Educator Memorial Scholarship. Applicants must be female future educators who also are actively engaged with community service. Presently, our family awards 1-2 scholarships per year ranging from $500-$1000 each. To date, the Lauren Brian Future Educator Memorial Scholarship has supported over $9,000 towards future educators. Please join me in raising funds for this worthy cause and helping my family to keep Lauren's spirit always present around education.
