LeBlanc Family's Path to Recovery

It is with great sadness that we share this loss. On Thursday June 26, 2025, the daughters, ages 15 and 12 of two University of New Mexico staff members were killed in a head-on collision in northwest Oregon while on a family vacation. A truck crossed into the oncoming lane and struck another vehicle before continuing and hitting the vehicle head-on driven by Charles LeBlanc.

Charles LeBlanc, department administrator for UNM’s Department of Neurosciences in the School of Medicine, and his wife, Jenni LeBlanc, faculty research support officer, suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to a Portland hospital. Their two daughters excelled as students, had many friends, were active outdoor enthusiasts, and loved by everyone.

The LeBlancs are a close-knit family. They were loved and supported by family and friends both in New Mexico and all around the world. The goal is to help relieve some of the financial burden that Jenni and Charles will undoubtedly face as they heal physically & emotionally from this tragedy and somehow move forward without their girls. There will be many expenses including medical bills, rehabilitation, long-term physical therapy, transportation, and legal fees not covered by other resources. Any funds not utilized will be donated to a charity chosen by the family.

The outpouring of love and support has been tremendous and so appreciated by the family. Many people have asked how they can help. This is one way to help Jenni and Charles. We don't have a timeline for services and celebrations of life for the girls. Regular posts will be forthcoming.
