Leaving Ukraine, restarting in Canada

Hi Everyone,

 

My name is Maya Tincombe, and I am raising funds to help Anya, her sons Tomas and Timothy and their dog  Berta get to Canada to start a new life. They are from Ukraine, and had to flee their home late at night, to escape the war. They were able to board a train to Budapest (perilous journey), secure a room while awaiting the proper documentation for Canada, and book flights to Vancouver. Unfortunately, Anya has become sick with Covid, and was unable to travel. So they are still in Hungary, with mounting travel costs, hoping to fly out next Friday. It has been a long and stressful journey, and when they finally arrive in Canada, they will be starting from scratch. The money will be used to help with their travel costs, and buy the essentials they will require once they arrive: food, household items, pet supplies.

 

My hope is that we can all band together to help them get set up in their new life here in Canada. Everything helps, no matter how small. I can’t imaging how they are feeling having to leave their home, family, friends and country behind, so know that your help is going to help this transition, and will be greatly appreciated.
