Since leaving situations with financial control, I am still trying to find my footing in life which is made difficult by my current physical and mental health. I have days where I go without eating because I can't leave the bed and I make less than 15k a year (around 12k in 2025, I am an independent contractor) and I have always dreamed of being able to get a bachelor's degree - I want a normal life, but my finances and circumstances have never allowed for this. Everytime I have saved up in the past, it was stolen by a family member or a previous partner (not my most recent long term ex). Since I left home around 14/15 finances and living situation have always been unpredictable but I want to build a more secure future for myself and my future family; higher education is a part of that goal. If I make more than what my Manhattan school of music payment requires ($19,245, but its closer to 22,000+ because I am taking a loan) a portion of the funds would go towards two friends, who are such beautiful beings and have been financially struggling for a long time. They are the kinds of people that always take care of others first, and their home is full of abandoned animals. They just recently got engaged and I want to give them some of this. My mom has been a victim of domestic violence for as long as I can remember and I want to use a part of this for her. I recently found out she is *extremely* sick. This is a harder topic for me to talk about and I can't say what it is, but I feel like time is running out - I know getting a degree would also mean so much to my mom - she always wanted higher education to be an option for me. Anything else would go towards a masters. This accelerated bachelors online program is fast tracked and only a year, and it's objective is so I can ultimately get a masters. If you've ever enjoyed my work in any capacity, seeing this as a tip or an aid for better work in the future would mean an immeasurable amount to me.
