I’m raising funds for myself and my girlfriend as we try to leave an abusive living situation with my girlfriend’s mother. We have been paying thousands in rent while dealing with abuse every day, and now we have been kicked out. Even though we both work full-time jobs, we still have not been able to save enough to get out on our own.

Day to day, we are exhausted. We are constantly walking on eggshells and hiding our own money so it does not get taken from us. When the screaming starts, we try to deescalate, but it can turn physical very quickly. Living like this has taken a real toll on us, and we need to get somewhere safe as soon as possible.

We are trying to move to Mississippi and get a house with my sister, but we are young and first-time renters, so the costs are hard to cover all at once. Support from this fundraiser will go toward the trip to Mississippi, the application fee, first and last month’s rent, utility fees, the security deposit, and other move-in costs that come with getting into a house.

We are hoping to leave by the end of next month if possible, which is why this help is so urgent. Any donation or share would mean so much to us and would help us take the steps we need to get out of this situation and start over in a safer home.
