Leave No Airman Behind: Help Our Family Now
Donation protected
This goes out to our Military Family, active duty and veterans. As many of you know, Don has been battling glioblastoma brain cancer since July 2021. He has been such a warrior, but we have come to the end of our journey, with doctors deciding to suspend his treatment and move him into Home Hospice this Friday, February 3.
We were so thankful for the GoFundMe our niece set up a few months ago and for everyone's generosity in helping us with home health rehabilitation, and all the additional costs incurred as we fought this debilitating disease.
As his wife, I am asking you to help as we embark on this next chapter. The realization that, while TriCare has provided us so much, it does not cover everything. Don is now bedridden, yet TriCare will only cover nursing care 3 days per week for 8 hours each day.
As a result, we will need to hire a private company to fill in the gaps. This will no doubt be a costly expense at the average 24 hours costing $1500. Those of you who have faced covering funeral costs know it is not inexpensive either, with charges incurred for virtually anything. We have been so blessed with the outpouring love and support of our military brothers and sisters, so I am asking you now to help in any way you can. We are at that point where his leave has run out; and thus his income greatly impacted.
For those of you who have been blessed to know my husband, you know that he has devoted 38 years to the World's Greatest Air Force, and is the embodiment of its motto: Integrity First. Service Before Self. Excellence in All He Did. We need you now.
