Hi everyone, I am running/rucking in the GORUCK 50-mile Star Course in Jacksonville, FL, on November 4th and have made it a goal to raise money for one of my favorite charities, Leashes of Valor (LOV).

Located on a 20-acre farm in rural Virginia, LOV is a national non-profit working to provide post-9/11 veterans with highly trained service dogs to assist them in mitigating the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Their mission is to bring service dogs and post-9/11 Veterans together to enrich the lives of both.

LOV is a small organization; training a service dog can be labor-intensive and extremely expensive, costing upwards of $25,000 per dog. However, thanks to the generosity of donors, Veterans who receive a LOV service dog pay nothing.

These service dogs can reinvigorate a veteran’s life and strengthen their sense of purpose, providing renewed hope and loving companionship through life’s daily stressors.
