Spearheading education solutions Learning Pod

Donation protected

Learning Pods is a platform where parents, facilitators (teachers) and hosts, connect with local, like-minded members to create their ideal learning pod.

Learning pods are small groups of children coming together to learn outside of a traditional brick and mortar school. There is no one-size-fits-all way to pod. Learning Pods  gives educational autonomy and accountability back to families and community.

Our objective is for all parents and facilitators across Canada looking for alternative education options to create an account on LearningPods-Canada.com so we can better coordinate for pods and build strong educational communities for our children.

Rachel, the founder of Learning Pods, created and developed Learning Pods , which provides a social media like platform where local likeminded members can find and connect with their ideal "pod mates" to form their customized learning communities. As you can imagine, this initiative has taken an unbelievable amount of effort, sweat, love, and of course financial investment.

From website development, to lawyer consults, marketing, promotion, information sharing, consulting, and more, this mother of four has kept the resources she created free to members because she knows this platform is a critical component to empowering parents to take their children’s education into their own control.

To overcome the plateau of the growth of the platform, especially considering the current political climate around the legacy education system, and to reach the parents and teachers that desperately need alternative education options we have created this Go Fund Me campaign. Our hope is that people like YOU will donate and help Rachel recoup some of her investments and allow her to continue to dedicate herself to this movement.

The Education System is Broken

Radical change to Canada's Monolithic-Education-System is long overdue, and the time to make that change is right now. The education system has been deeply flawed for some time, but never has this been made more apparent than in recent years, in light of the pandemic.

OUR children are the ones who will suffer most if we as parents don't do what is necessary to make major changes RIGHT NOW.

There is much cause for concern across our country and the world,  as we face ever developing variants, rolling lockdowns and threats of vaccination passports.

But even more worrisome is the unknowable long term psychological harms already imposed upon millions of children, through extreme and abrupt, long term, sociological reconstructions to their entire inner and outer worlds.

The damage already done this past year and half is unknowable, and there seems to be no end in sight.

As school boards across the country, especially in Ontario where lockdowns have closed schools more than anywhere else in the world, see more parents removing their children from the system to take their education into their own control, these school boards will continue to lose their funding and be forced to reconsider how they’ve mismanaged the decisions and the negative impact it’s had on their students and families.

About Rachel Danzinger, Founder of Learning Pods

Rachel is a mother of 4 in Toronto that realized in the summer of 2020 that school was not going back to “normal” and took her children’s education into her own hands. Her family decided their children would not be returning to school as they were not prepared to expose them to the detrimental practices that were occurring.

She ventured to social media to connect with local like-minded parents to form a Learning Pod in her home, hired a facilitator and created a new normal for her children to provide a stable, successful, and stress free school year.

In her quest to help herself and her family she immediately saw the need. She noticed that many parents were in the same place as her, ready to embrace a new alternative education option. Many people told her she was “crazy” to work on development of a website like Learning Pods, because “two weeks to flatten the curve” would be over soon.

Since creating the platform Rachel has helped countless parents and teachers find each other, connect, and create their ideal learning pods. Using the website search features members can easily match with others that are in similar location, age groups, and covid sensitivities for example.

LearningPods-Canada.com now has an online community of more than 6,000 parents and 1,000 teachers and it continues to grow as more government overreach threatens yet another school year.

Rachel is extremely passionate about the movement she’s created and works tirelessly to continue to grow and develop the platform, tools, and resources for members.

Please consider donating today to help her continue to reach even more families, teachers, and partners as well as better developments into the technology, support, and resources that are critical to parents and teachers as they navigate this new education model.
