My name is Louise, I’m 18 years old, come from Germany and spend currently a year in Bolivia doing a voluntary social service. I work with a local Fundación that supports children every afternoon with their homework and organizes fun and creative activities afterwards.

The "Fundación Suenos Esperanza Camiri" is run mainly by young local volunteers and university students, who come by before or after their classes to help the kids for around three hours. Besides the daily homework sessions, we also try to plan small celebrations and projects whenever possible – for example, making Halloween baskets, face painting, or learning traditional dances.We also organize environmental activities, such as on “Dia del Arbo,” when each child plants a small tree, gives it a name, and shares a wish for themselves and their tree.

Since the Fundación is still in its early stages, financial resources are very limited. We need basic materials like pens, sharpeners, water, and sometimes a working football. Every bit of support helps us make these afternoons full of learning, creativity, and joy.

Because Bolivia is not yet approved as a recipient country on this platform, I have created this GoFundMe account myself. The collected donations go to me, and I will directly transfer the funds to the Fundación to buy materials and organize projects with the children – both during my time here and in the future.

Every contribution, no matter the size, brings a lot of joy to the kids and volunteers alike.

Mein Name ist Louise, ich bin 18 Jahre alt und mache derzeit ein freiwilliges soziales Jahr in Bolivien. Hier arbeite ich in einer Fundación, die Kindern jeden Nachmittag bei den Hausaufgaben hilft und anschließend spielerische und kreative Aktivitäten mit ihnen gestaltet.

Die Fundación "Suenos Esperanza Camiri" wird vor allem von jungen Freiwilligen aus der Umgebung und von Universitätsstudent*innen getragen, die vor oder nach ihren Vorlesungen vorbeikommen und die Kinder für etwa drei Stunden betreuen. Neben dem täglichen Lernen organisieren wir – wenn es zeitlich und finanziell möglich ist – kleine Feste und Projekte. Zum Beispiel basteln die Kinder zu Halloween Körbchen, schminken sich oder lernen traditionale Tänze. Auch umweltfreundliche Aktionen liegen uns am Herzen, wie zum Beispiel am „Dia del Arbol“, an dem jedes Kind einen kleinen Baum pflanzt, ihm einen Namen gibt und sich etwas Schönes für sich und den Baum wünscht.

Leider sind die finanziellen Mittel der Fundación sehr begrenzt. Dinge wie Stifte, Anspitzer, Papier, Wasser oder auch mal ein intakter Fußball werden hier täglich gebraucht. Jede Unterstützung – ob groß oder klein – hilft uns, diese Nachmittage mit Freude, Spiel und gemeinschaftlichem Lernen zu gestalten.

Da Bolivien aktuell auf der Plattform nicht als Empfängerland zugelassen ist, habe ich diesen GoFundMe-Account erstellt. Die gesammelten Spenden gehen an mich und werden vollständig an die Fundación weitergeleitet, um Materialien zu kaufen und Projekte mit den Kindern umzusetzen – sowohl während meiner Zeit hier als auch langfristig.

Me llamo Louise, tengo 18 años, soy de Alemana y actualmente estoy realizando un año de voluntariado social en Bolivia. Trabajo en una Fundación que apoya a niños y niñas cada tarde con sus tareas escolares y que, después, organiza actividades lúdicas y creativas.

La Fundación "Suenos Esperanza Camiri" está formada principalmente por jóvenes voluntarios locales y estudiantes universitarios que vienen antes o después de sus clases para acompañar a los niños durante unas tres horas. Además de las tareas diarias, intentamos organizar pequeñas celebraciones y proyectos siempre que sea posible. Por ejemplo, los niños hacen canastas para Halloween, se pintan la cara o aprenden bailes traditionales. También realizamos actividades relacionadas con el medio ambiente, como en el “Día del Árbol”, donde cada niño planta un pequeño árbol, le pone un nombre y comparte un deseo para él y para sí mismo.

Los recursos económicos de la Fundación son muy limitados, y necesitamos materiales básicos como lápices, sacapuntas, agua o incluso un balón en buen estado. Cada contribución, grande o pequeña, nos ayuda a seguir creando tardes llenas de aprendizaje, diversión y compañerismo.

Como Bolivia aún no está autorizada como país receptor en esta plataforma, yo he creado esta cuenta. Las donaciones se transfieren a mi nombre y serán entregadas íntegramente a la Fundación para comprar materiales y realizar proyectos con los niños, tanto durante mi estancia aquí como a largo plazo.
