This morning ICE agents detained a mother as she was dropping off her child at my child’s old preschool. The inhumanity of this breaks my heart and I feel that I need to try to do SOMETHING. Therefore, I am establishing a family support/legal defense fund for this family. To be clear, I am not in contact with this family and do not yet know the specifics. However, I am in contact with the pre school and did confirm this happened. I hope to get their assistance with routing any funds to this family. If for any reason the family does not need or want these funds I will find an appropriate immigration legal defense fund to donate them to. I am figuring this out on the fly but I feel like I have to try to do something. Regardless of your politics I think we can all agree what is happening to this family is heart breaking. Many of us feel powerless over what is happening in this country but maybe we can at least make a difference on a small scale to this one family. Please consider donating whatever you can.
