Hello we are Duke and Kara Davis Founders of Restoration, Inc. Duke is a disabled veteran and retired Marine with Kara at his side.

When Duke was forced to be medically retired at 23 years, they both found transitioning to be very tough. Understanding what they now know, it was a given that they help others not make the same mistakes during this phase and the concept of Restoration, Inc. was born.

Both are veterans of the nonprofit sector. They both served on the national staff of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Duke as the national programs’ director and Kara as the Equipment facilitator managing over two hundred programs with an annual budget of 3.2 million dollars. In 2019 Duke became the CEO of Healing Towers in Ketchikan, Alaska where he served in that role until December 2022.

As a nonprofit we rely on gracious partners to make it all possible. We are committed to providing a life long mentorship and teaching recreational therapy in the great outdoors to veterans and their spouses. Being in nature has proven to help with Post Traumatic Stress, mindfulness and mental fatigue. Our services also allow critically wounded veterans the freedom to experience the outdoors again.

Now we are on a mission to improve our remote Alaska retreat location and need your help. In an off grid remote environment it is critical to have a constant dependable power source. Unfortunately the one we have is not adequate to keep up with the ever increasing needs. This is extremely important due to the nature of the veteran participants that are brought to this unique location. With the increasing need for electricity to enable our veteran participants, to operate and charge medical equipment, electric scooters, electric wheelchairs, etc.
