Kids are encouraged to flash wealth but never taught how to make, preserve, and grow their finances. If young people are going to survive and rise, they need the fundamentals that schools and parents just don't teach. We want to solve this problem.
Learn to Money is a video series and companion classroom curriculum hosted by Tyrone Ross, an athlete and financial advisor whose mission is to empower people with the financial tools and knowledge to thrive. The first person from his family to graduate from high school, he made the climb himself and knows exactly how to connect with the folks who need this information the most.
We plan to cover budgeting, saving, managing and avoiding debt, making smart purchases, investing, home buying, credit scores, and more. And we'll do it in a way that won't put young people to sleep. Our videos will be full of dope graphics, expressed in relatable language, and will be posted on Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and TikTok.
Here is what we will do with the funds:
* At $35,000 we will create a pilot episode and curriculum.
* At $225,000 we will create six episodes with curriculum.
* At $425,000 we will create twelve episodes with curriculum.
* At $475,000 we will create twelve episodes and a companion website.
As we start creating episodes and materials we'll be seeking partnerships with organizations and corporations to expand the reach and impact of our materials. Our goal is to spread the knowledge far and wide. We'll continue to create more videos around an ever expanding range of topics within financial literacy as well as expand into career development and entrepreneurialism.
Please help us bring Learn to Money to life. And if you know anyone you think would love this idea, please send this page their way. Thank you!
Learn to Money is a collaboration between Tyrone Ross, Eric Brown, and Andrew Kornhaber. Production company Kornhaber Brown will be producing the pilot and will be administering the funds.
