Learn A Story of a Sacred Musical Legacy:

Tax deductible
I'm Sig Rosen of Renaissance Chorus, formed at the High School of Music and Art in 1954 and Incorporated as Charity in 1960.
We deal in the miracle of creating great music- and surviving as a community of singers in a sadly crass age. Our Composers were the greatest in their era.
We don't have the benefit of large grants or professional fundraisers, just loyal and discerning listeners.
We are honored to share a portion of admission with our host churches and are fortunate to offer artists the paid opportunity to share their talent and leadership to our mainly volunteer chorus, many who are experienced retired professionals.
Our Conductor Richard Porterfield Leads in Churches and Colleges and inspires committed
singing. I welcome Donors to access our Concerts online to hear what we do.
We of course must print rare music, programs and posters and engage a variety of artists and rent insured rehearsal venues. Publicity and engagement are necessary.

YOUR DONATIONS CREATE GREAT ART AND KNOWLEDGE OF HISTORY:
Everything we do encourages spiritual growth broadly conceived, even as we as a community are from all sectors.
We are RenChorNY.

RenChorNY presents
Austro-Hungarian Court Composers
c.1480-1543.
Like her grandfather Maximilian I, who employed Isaac and Senfl, Mary Queen of Hungary brilliantly employed the Court composer Thomas Stoltzer to set Luther’s new 1524 Hebrew-German Psalm translations to pioneering 6/7vv. polyphony. Senfl arranged Josquin’s ‘Ave Maria’ to 6vv.
These and other of their Marian motets, Psalms in Latin and German and Lied are featured by RenChorNY, led by Richard Porterfield.

The Chamber Choir will be joined by viols in this presentation of
‘Austro-Hungarian Court Composers’
in Two New York City Events:

Sunday May 5, 2024, 4 pm
Hudson View Gardens Lounge
128 Pinehurst Avenue, Manhattan

Sunday May 12, 2024, 4 pm
Trinity Lutheran Church
164 W. 100th Street, Manhattan
