On the 22nd of February 2025, I lost my brother Darren to suicide — a day that changed my life forever.
We spoke every single day. He was the one I laughed with, the one I told everything to, and the one who always made things feel okay. Losing him has left a space in my life that will never be filled. Those who knew Darren know what a big personality he was, and I’m sure they have felt his loss just as much as I have.
To honour Darren, I’m doing a 160ft tandem bungee jump on the 4th of July — my “Leap of Love” — something completely out of my comfort zone, but it shows just how much this means to me.
I won’t be doing it alone. My cousin will be jumping with me, in memory of her dad and to raise money for a charity that’s very close to her heart. You can find her GoFundMe link on her profile (Ebonnie Johnson).
Together, we’re doing this for the people we’ve lost and to try and make a difference.
I’m raising money for Mental Health Matters, a charity that supports people who are struggling and provides help when it’s needed most. My target is £500.
If sharing this helps even one person feel less alone, then it means everything. And if you’re able to donate, no matter how small, I would be so grateful.
Let’s keep talking, keep supporting each other, and reminding people they’re not alone
