As some of you may know, I have developed a little habit of chopping my hair off every 2 or so years ;) What you may not know is that each time I do so, I donate my ponytail(s) to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, as well as fundraise money to donate to a Cancer charity. Pantene helps create wigs for people living with cancer in Canada, and provides the wigs to individuals at no cost.
The first time around, I donated 10 inches of my hair and helped raise almost $10,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. This was part of the Pink in the Rink fundraiser with the UofL Pronghorns Hockey Team I was a part of at the time.
The second time I chopped my hair, I held a smaller fundraiser with family and friends. I donated the money raised to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, and 12 inches of my hair to Pantene.
This time around, I have chosen Pancreatic Cancer Canada. Two people that are very special to me have been personally affected by Pancreatic Cancer. This devastating disease is very difficult to detect early, has very limited treatment options, and currently has a very low survival rate.
All money raised will be donated directly to PCC to fund further research, in honour of R & R <3
