Hello,

My name is Leah S. I have 2 daughters (14, 15). We are in Washington. My husband is active duty Army of 22 years, currently stationed in S. Korea. This beautiful furry friend is Stella, our 13.5-year-old Standard Poodle. She was born here in Washington and has lived throughout the United States and Europe. So it seems fitting that we are now back in WA. Stella is my bestie, my companion, and has been with us throughout this military lifestyle. Stella joined our family in December of 2011 at 8 weeks old. I raised her right alongside my two daughters. She is very well-behaved, so affectionate, and offers comfort to anyone in need. We have always given Stella the best care as she is part of our family. Through thick and thin and other pet friends that have joined the family, Stella has always been the rock.

Unfortunately, going in for a routine dental visit a swollen lymph node was discovered. Two weeks later the sclera of her eyes became red. March 2025, we discovered Stella has lymphoma. This was very emotional for me. Two years ago, I had to put down our rescue poodle, Rocket, due to a tumor in his lungs. My husband was away and returned 2 weeks after. When I received this diagnosis for Stella, I knew I couldn't go through that again, nor could my husband. Her prognosis was 2 months give or take a little. I was shocked! Stella just played tug of war, and went for our 2.5 mile walk. This was happening so fast. We decided to try chemotherapy treatments. The chemotherapy treatment plan is 3 different drugs for 6 weeks. Stella has received 3 treatments so far and is responding extremely well with minimal side effects. This can give her 12-24 more months with us. Without treatment Stella had a 2 months prognosis and it was happening fast. The money we have spent so far totals to $1700.00. I am asking for donations to continue her next 3 treatments and pay off as much of the $1700.00 as possible. Due to our recent move to Washington in June 2024, I have been a stay at home mom while my husband has been deployed and the girls adjust.
