Hey, I’m Dylan. Leah is my 7-year-old Shepherd. Last night when I came home, she was her normal, happy self. I let her out to potty, and about 30 minutes later, I fed her dinner. She ate about half of it and threw a little back up, which I didn’t think much of because she seemed fine. I cleaned up, and she finished her food. Very shortly after, she wanted to go back outside. She paced around the yard a bit and tried to eat some grass, which I stopped her from doing, but again didn’t think much of because she does try to do that quite often. We came back inside and settled in for the evening, and she still seemed fine.
Fast forward to about 3:30 this morning, and I wake to use the bathroom and hear one of the dogs throwing up. I’m immediately terrified as my black Shepherd mix is currently recovering from a splenectomy from a ruptured tumor. I walk into the living room, and Leah has thrown up several times and is laying on the floor actively throwing up/dry heaving. I load her up and head to the emergency vet to find out her stomach has flipped. She is currently at the vet, and out of surgery and they seem pretty optimistic that she will pull through. However, I’m currently around $3,800 and counting, and I’ll be unable to cover it all after the $9,337 I just spent for my other pup's exploratory surgery and splenectomy. Any and all donations help, your thoughts, prayers, and shares are incredibly appreciated as well. Thank you for helping me get Leah back home and healthy.
