Hiya!

On Sunday I'm running the Manchester half marathon for the Alzheimer's Society, a charity that provides support for those affected by the disease and funds research into understanding causes, improving care, and finding a cure.

My Granny was one of those affected by Alzheimer's. For those who knew her, you knew her kind and generous nature, a head teacher who went above and beyond, supportive of each grandchild despite some of our questionable decisions. She was also a keen gardener. One of the saddest aspects of Alzheimer's is watching someone become disinterested in the things they once loved. I've recently changed job and become a gardener myself, something I wish I could share with her.
