Leah's Brain Surgery

Whenever we pack our kids up and send them off to school, we do so trusting that if anything should happen to them, they will be taken care of. Many times it is the Nurse that is providing that care. Sometimes, it's a simple bump, bruise or sickness. Then there’s the situations where she is calming everyone down while someone is having a medical emergency and handling all of the medical procedures flawlessly. 

I have personally watched as Leah has cared for hundreds of children. I have watched her help children breathe when they can't. I have watched her run off to help with seizures and address serious wounds so children didn't lose fingers. I have watched her screen some of your children after they have head injuries... I have watched her do it all. She helps everyone. Each student is cared for with love and kindness. Each student knows how loved they are by her. 

This summer,  Leah is traveling across the country to undergo brain surgery. Not only is this a risky surgery to begin with, but the type of surgery that she needs will only be touched by 5 Doctors in the COUNTRY. Leah, her husband and her son will need to stay out of state for a minimum of 12 days. As you can imagine, there are many expenses that will arise. Due to the serious nature of this operation, I do not want there to be any unnecessary stress for her to worry about. The only thing that Leah needs to be focused on should be her recovery. Leah needs to heal so that she can get back to living a happy and PAIN FREE life. One where she is able to love on her family and care for all of our babies.

Leah is not at all aware of me doing this. I’m sure she would actually tell me not to. However, I firmly believe that when someone needs help- we step up and do what we can to make life a little easier on those we love. And we love Nurse Leah. Every dime donated will be given directly to Leah and her family to cover these overwhelming expenses. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
