Finding out that I have cancer has been devastating. I received my real estate license the beginning of 2015 and was actively practicing until my diagnosis last month. My broker put my license on hold and took over the two clients I had been working with. I applied for disability but haven't received a response... and my bills are piling up. As a single mother of 3, I don't know what I am going to do, I just know I need to survive.
I was diagnosed with a very late stage (stage 3 of 3) of Multiple Myeloma Cancer - a type of Leukemia. I understand that I am the youngest patient my doctor has ever seen with this cancer. Prior to being diagnosed I suffered broken bones, constant nausea, weight loss and a year plus of tremendous pain making it nearly impossible to lift my toddler, function normally or take care of my older boys as usual. I've seen specialists, taken dozens of X-rays, MRIs, CT Scans, and had a camera put down my throat to see if I had GERD. When my gums started bleeding, the inside of my mouth, hands and feet started peeling my primary doctor sent me to a different ER hospital where I was finally admitted. (I had been turned away multiple times by the closer hospital in town) Since being admitted all work has stopped and I no longer can practice real estate. Currently I am struggling to get to my weekly Chemotherapy appointments which are a 5 hour round trip to the Cancer Center in Napa from Lakeport, CA. My children and I are in desperate need, and appreciate any and all help available. Thank you and God Bless.
