I write these words through tears and with a heavy heart. My dear and only sister, Leah Johnson, passed away unexpectedly on June 1, 2022, after two days in the ICU for sepsis. We are all completely devastated and still in shock, trying to understand how a beautiful soul with such a strong life force can be taken from us when she had so many years of life ahead of her. We've been close friends since we were in high school, we've been roommates, confidantes and life coaches as we helped each through many challenges and successes. She was the best sister, I love her so much, and I can't believe she's gone.

 

As amazing she was as my sister, she was an even more amazing mother. As a single Mama, she poured her heart, soul and energy into loving, protecting and caring for her two children, Ian and Susie Johnson, and as heart-broken as I am, it doesn't come close to the devastation they are going through. They had a special kind of close relationship and friendship where they talked almost every day and shared all moments, big and small. Ian and Susie have an unfillable void in their hearts that they will carry for the rest of their lives. It is for them that I am setting up this Leah Johnson Memorial Fund.

 

Leah was loved by anyone who knew her - friends, family and complete strangers who were lucky enough to cross her path. Many of you who love Leah, Ian and Susie have been asking what you can do to help during this time, and I know Leah's answer would be, "be there for Ian and Susie". When this fundraiser closes, 100% of the funds raised will go to them to help pay for the ICU medical bills, continuing college, and facing Life's challenges without their mama.
