Leah “Beck” Murphy’s Funeral & Medical Expenses

Born Leah Murphy, but she went by Beck. She had plans of changing her name to Rebecca Murphy because it was what she had been called for years. The first thing she wanted to do after she graduated was to change her name. She just graduated at the end of July and was 18. She was looking forward to changing it legally any day now. She was such a shining light and healing spirit! All she ever wanted to do was help people. She had plans to go to culinary school because she didn’t think she was smart enough to become a therapist, but she already was a therapist to everyone including her family and friends. She was so gifted in knowing what to say or do to help anyone and was so wise beyond her years. She had dreams of getting her passport and traveling to Australia to be with her longtime Best Friends/ Partner / Soulmate- Katy. She always said she wanted to help foster kids, and they were going to do that together.

She got sick very suddenly, with just a regular old cold. The rest of the family already had it and recovered. However, hers continued to worsen and turned to pneumonia. In the span of a week she went from healthy and vibrant to gone. On top of this unbelievable shock and the devastating grief. Both Dawn and Joe currently have no more available PTO from their jobs because earlier this year Dawn had unexplained hemorrhaging and was rushed to the ER. She ended up having an emergency hysterectomy. Joe used all of his time in the hospital with her and she used all of hers for recovery. While they do intend to go back to work at some point. They are nowhere near ready right now.

Any financial help in covering end of life expenses or helping them to just be able to stay home and take the time they need to heal without worrying how to pay the bills would be an amazing gift at this time.
