Our Story
During the pandemic, Unity UK’s founder Wayne Walton witnessed the power of communities rising together. He recalls one moment when he and a fellow activist found 52 people still sleeping rough, despite claims that all had been housed. With urgency and action, they relocated these individuals to a disused dairy, mobilized locals to provide tents, food, and clothing, and convinced the council to house them all.
Today, those 52 individuals live in stable housing—a testament to the transformative power of compassion, advocacy, and community action. This story reflects what Unity UK stands for: bold solutions powered by people like you.
