Hello, my name is Britney Hochman! I'm a fourth-year film production undergraduate at Webster University! I'm also the writer/director of my upcoming senior thesis film, Lead With Your Hips.

This film is about a high school quarterback and a cheer captain who must learn to break free from their rigid gender roles when they find themselves switching bodies. As a transgender filmmaker, I aim to tell a transgender story without transgender characters. I want to show my experience in a way that's relatable to a cisgender audience: what if you were forced to experience a different gender role, just for a day? Would you treat it like a punishment... or an opportunity?

This $5000 starting goal will all be used for the production process: hiring actors and crew, securing props and locations, covering catering, etc. As a Webster student, I already have access to hundreds of thousands of dollars of cinema-grade equipment, thereby skyrocketing the production value beyond your usual independent short film.
