Little Cubs Academy raises money for CCLG

At our nursery this year, we're sharing the magic of Christmas outside our walls. We often get involved in charity events and support our local communities throughout the year, but this Christmas is different. This year we're proud to be able to support a cause much closer to our hearts.

One of our LCA families, the Nesbitt's, who’s little boy, Eddie, has been with us from 9 months old has been battling leukaemia following his diagnosis in July at just 14 months old. Since then, he has undergone extensive treatment, and thanks to the miraculous team of doctors and nurses at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Eddie is making strong progress. To say he's been brave would be an understatement.

Charlie, his older brother is in our preschool room, and he keeps us updated as to how his little brother is doing. His happy and positive disposition is inspiring. We all can’t wait to welcome Eddie back to LCA when he has finished his treatment.
At LCA we believe in the strength of community. The holidays are a special time because it brings us together with friends, families, and loved ones. From speaking with Hermione Nesbitt, Charlie and Eddie’s mother, we have heard about the remarkable work that the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group carries out.

Though its world class research, the CCLG has played a key role in improving children’s cancer survival rates and the standards of care for children. Today over 80% of children in England now survive their cancer for 5 years or more, and in leukaemia cases like Eddie’s, the long-term survival rate is closer to 95%. CCLG fund and conduct vital research, as well as supporting parents and carers with information resources to help patients and their families understand their diagnosis, treatment and what to expect.

This Christmas, LCA are proud to be supporting the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group.

LCA will be making a company donation and here is how you can join in helping to make a difference:
Donate via GoFundMe page - Every contribution, no matter the size, adds up to make a big impact. Your donation will directly support the charity.
Spread the word - Share the GoFundMe page on your social media platforms with friends, family, and colleagues.
Encourage others - Invite others to join this cause. Your voice can inspire more people to contribute and make a difference in the lives of children fighting leukaemia.

Your generosity will create a ripple effect of kindness that reaches far beyond our nursery.

Thank you for your generosity.

The Little Cubs team.
