On July 28th Layton Dorman was involved in a car accident while driving his work truck. He hit a tree, rolled his vehicle several times and came to a rest on its side after trying to avoid hitting a deer. He sustained severe injuries, including a crushed scapula, a broken collar bone, and multiple fractured vertebrae. Layton lay in the ICU for days while the doctors and nurses attempted to comfort him amid the flurry of tests and exams. At one point, the physical therapist used a brace to help sit him up, and Layton stated that it was the worst pain he’d ever experienced in his life. On August 9th, he was released from the hospital to recover at home. He has an incredibly long road ahead of him that will include physical therapy, occupational therapy, and learning how to take care of himself again. Any help that you can provide for Layton will assist in easing the financial stress his family has and allow them to focus on making sure their son gets back to being happy, healthy, and walking on his own two feet.
