Layla’s Stupid Elbow 3.0

Donation protected

Dearest friends, family, and loved ones,

First of all, thank you for being here. Chances are, you probably already know Layla, and therefore likely know her ridiculous history with THAT elbow. If you’re new, welcome, here’s a not so brief recap:

I’ve had Layla since she was a wee puppy, and she’s 13 now. That’s a friendship and bond unlike any other I’ve ever known in life. She is perfectly sweet, gentle, and wants nothing but to stare at you longingly for a piece of your pizza crust. She is my absolute ride or die. If you know that feeling, you are, like me, so very lucky.

When Layla was just 6 months old, she broke her elbow after running down a flight of stairs like a lunatic. She had surgery to fix it - plates, screws, and stabilizing rod, she took it like a champ. We recovered.

Just three years later, the stabilizing rod migrated and tried to escape through her shoulder. It was gross. She had another surgery, she took it like a champ.  We recovered.

Since then, she’s always on and off favored  her right front leg from all that trauma, but we didn’t worry about it too much. In fact, she’s been a great weather predictor, if she started limping, you could be sure a low pressure storm was coming in a few days. She’d get a pain pill for the discomfort and all was well. It was handy trick.

Alas, here we are today. A few weeks ago what we all thought was a hot spot, turned out to be an infection from the remaining plate and screws still in her elbow. She had surgery today, she took it like a champ. No one is surprised by this, despite her being a fragile old maid. We are trying to recover.

But this one hit hard for us, the current state of the world, country, economy, everything, has left us feeling depleted and anxious

Layla and I don’t make a habit of asking for help - she’s a Scorpio and I’m an Aquarius, it’s just who we are, but today we are asking. We need you fam.

So if you have it in you, please help us. Layla would be thrilled to pay it back with sweet gentle stinky breath kisses, and I would be eternally grateful for your generosity.

We love you all so very much, and thank you sincerely just for being here to read this.

Love above all,
Elizabeth and Layla
