Leg Repair 4 Layla Lou

Hi, I am Missy Ann, Layla's Mom!
Our Story:
My twins and I adopted Layla from Great Lakes Boxer Rescue in March 2018. I have to admit it was like having triplets with these three running around in the house! LOL Truly, though, Layla has been an absolute angel in our lives from the moment we met her! It's been nearly five years since we adopted Layla, and she is not just a "dog" to us; she is family! Oh, how we love our sweet Layla Lou... I am still in shock as I retell this story, but sadly on October 10, 2022, Layla was viciously attacked in our fenced backyard by what appeared to be a coyote. Layla defended herself well in the attack and had no immediate life-threatening injuries. However, significant damage to her right hind limb and several minor injuries to her right side was evident. I took Layla to MSU Medical Center ER, where she is currently. After three days of ICU care, the Orthopedic Surgeons successfully placed a metal pin/rod to repair and stabilize the fracture sustained to the Tibia and Fibula of her right hind limb. Praise the Lord!! We are not out of the woods yet in terms of infection, but we are on our way!! If you have a prayer to spare, please say one for my Layla & family.
Imagine how much a week's hospital stay is in the ICU, how much surgery costs an Orthopedic Surgeon performs, and all the emergent care fees... I have wiped out my savings, utilized credit cards, and haven't even paid for the surgery yet. I can't express how happy, yet helpless, almost overwhelmingly desperate I feel, but in my heart, I want to see my Layla happy and running with the twins again! She has so much life left in her; I couldn't let money stop me from doing what is virtuous in my mind, heart & in my soul.
Everyone has a story, and here is mine... the last year of my life has, let's say, left me financially unstable. It started last Fall when my employer forced me to quit my job of 21 years (Covid Related); my home exploded in March of this year from a gas leak; no one was hurt, thank God, but we still haven't moved back in. Then three weeks ago, my new office/job closed after eight months, leaving me jobless for a few weeks without any source of income. I am coming out and admitting I am desperate. I am asking for any help you can offer. Please, if you find it in your heart, consider donating to our fundraiser to raise money to pay for Layla's ever-growing medical bill!! If you cannot give at this time, we certainly understand and appreciate you taking the time to read our story. Whether you can donate or not, you can help by resharing our fundraiser on your page, as this would give us a better chance of meeting our goal. May God Bless All of You!!
We appreciate any support and promise to keep everyone posted on Layla's Recovery!
Love,
Kohen, Della, Layla Lou & Missy Ann
