Layla Drye medical bills
Donation protected
Hey friends and family,
This Friday we traveled back to Nashville from Thanksgiving in NC, and as soon as we walked into our house, Layla started vomiting pools of bright red blood and couldn’t stop. We’ll spare you with the rest of the details, but since then, it’s been ups and downs of where she’s been headed & what the cause was. She’s had to stay in an oxygen tank because of the aspirations from all of the vomiting, heavy meds for pneumonia, and 24/hr monitoring and constant testing. EDIT: Layla has had LIFE-SAVING lung surgery and is recovering well! Waiting to hear about the pathology report (bacteria, fungal, or possible cancer).
Overall the bills have been WAY above what we thought we would ever have to encounter for an emergency visit, but now we can have 10+ more years with her, given that the team here (Blue Pearl in Franklin) uncovered the issue and took out part of her lung.
We are trying to get ahead of what we are left with financially, since each day in this type of 24/hr monitoring care has amounted in thousands in hospital bills (larger than this GoFundMe).
Layla has been a huge part of our family since we got her in 2011 and she has a lot of life left to live now. Like your pets, she has always been an unconditional comfort to us when we’ve needed it most.
Thank you kindly for giving to her, and us.
