Our beloved sweetest girl Lt. Ripley has been diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease. Unfortunately, there is no treatment, and the only known cause seems to be a genetic one. We rescued Ripley from Stockton after our son’s cat was traumatically taken from us the day after his 8th birthday. She has brought so much joy to our family over the last 5 years. If you got to meet her, you know she’s just the best. When my cat Mimiz passed last year (18 yrs old, bone cancer took her), Ripley was such a comfort for me. Every pet that has come into our home has been ushered by our Ripley; she took the senior spot and has done the best job showing all the animals the ropes. She’s our easy-going, no-attitude, full-of-love cat, and we just want her to pass gracefully.
Last week, our dog Dottie survived a rattlesnake attack, and we’re very lucky to have her here with us still. That was not cheap, and with that unexpected expense, along with being a family of four, we were able to get her an appointment and diagnosed, but we’re out of funds. Anything helps, we just don’t want her to suffer.
