Laying Edwin Torrez to rest

Donation protected

Hi my name is Danielle, I was the fiancé of Edwin Torrez. We lost our brother/father/friend/husband/son on June 8, 2021. He was a great person that left too sudden. He was a loving father to his 7 year old daughter that he leaves behind. He cared about anyone that came across in his life and made sure that they were ok. He was an opened minded person with a lot of creativity. He was joyful, full of happiness and funny. He befriended anyone he met. He would go beyond and more for all of his friends/family that needed him. The number one person he always made sure of was his mother. As they have already lost his younger brother 3 years ago.

On June 2, 2021 around 9:30 p.m. as I was waiting for Edwin to pick me up from work. I spoke with him while I was working to make sure that he was on his way and he told me he was about to leave the house. After 30 minutes of waiting I kept calling his phone and he never answered. As I worried with no response from him, that's when I called his cousin Pedro to pick me up as something in me didn't feel right as he was never late. Once we were getting closer, I noticed the main entrance was blocked with ambulances, fire trucks, and police. We made a detour to get to the apartment building. Once I arrived to the building I jumped out and ran home, hoping everything was ok. As I arrived, the paramedics were on the floor trying to save Edwin's life. I was told that he had a sudden heart attack and he was rushed to Adventist Healthcare White Oak Medical Center. He was in a coma since his arrival. Throughout the days there were no brain activity or response of any kind. As the doctors communicated to myself, his mom, and his only brother they informed us that there was no chance of him waking up and to prepare for the worst. As we prayed and hoped for a miracle, we gathered our friends and family to see him, talk to him, and pray for him. We asked him to find and hear our voices to come back home and that his daughter was waiting for him to wake up.

Suddenly on June 8th, with no movements or brain activity, the battle for his life had ended.

As we struggle and cope for Edwin, we are asking our friends, family, community, and/or anyone who comes across Edwin's life story for any donation and help for funeral and hospital expenses. During this hard time, we appreciate any donations towards his expenses in this pandemic.
