Laying Chris R. Matthews to rest

I’m not really sure what to say as the shock factor has taken hold, but my father passed away this morning. I’ve done all I can to save my own money but even that won’t be enough to pay for an unexpected tragedy. My fiancee Abbey is graciously helping as much as she can, but she hasn’t been able to work much as she’s been dealing with a broken foot. With all the ongoing changes from COVID-19 I’m not even sure he’ll get to have a proper service. As the days go on I will be in touch with our family and make plans. My dad had a huge heart and soul, and regardless of how he lived his life, the things he said, the things he did, he loved and cared about every living being and thing he encountered. He touched so many lives and gave unimaginable words of wisdom and advice. He helped anybody he could even when he couldn’t help himself. He was taken way too soon. I love my old man more than anybody I’ve ever loved, and our bond was unbreakable. My sisters and I are truly devastated. As with everything I’m not expecting anything from this, but if anybody is willing to help us, it would mean the world. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this. Feel free to share. Update #1 All I have to say is wow. Thank you all for your ongoing love and support. This is absolutely incredible to see. I’m in the process of withdrawing funds but it’s more slow going than I expected. Obviously nobody plans to lay anybody to rest before their time should have come. From what I’ve been told from the funeral home, they are going to need payment up front. The cost is much more than I expected. With that said, I will be upping our goal in small increments. Again, I don’t expect anything at all, but anything that comes from your hearts will all go to my fathers funeral. Thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts #2 It’s getting really hard to keep this updated with all the changes and planning. We’re finalizing details tomorrow but for now we all need a bit of rest. Just thank you all very, very much. It’s wonderful to see all of the people that care about dad and our family. The support and generosity is very heartwarming. Thank you for helping us through this.
