Laying Anee to Rest

Donation protected
We are heartbroken and outraged by the tragic and untimely death of A’nee Roberson, a vibrant Black transgender woman who was brutally assaulted and left in the street, where she was hit by a passing vehicle. A’nee was only 30 years old, her life cruelly cut short in a horrific act of violence. She is the 20th transgender or gender-nonconforming person to die by violence this year alone.

DC Safe Haven, a trans-led organization, is seeking your support to help A’nee's family lay their beloved daughter to rest. No parent should ever have to bury their child. This tragedy was unexpected and has left her family reeling. A’nee had a bright future ahead of her, and her loss is a stark reminder that hatred and bigotry are still very much alive.

We are asking for your help. No donation is too small. Please donate if you can and share this campaign because A’nee's life mattered. The next time, it could be one of us. When we say Black Trans Lives Matter, this is the moment to stand in solidarity with us as we mourn the loss of our sister.

The funds raised will be used to support A’nee's family during this difficult time, including covering the costs of her burial. Her family is devastated by her sudden death, but we at DC Safe Haven are committed to standing up and fighting back when trans lives are under attack.

We invite you to join DC Safe Haven for Trans Day of Remembrance on November 17th, 2023 at 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington DC 2004 at 5:30 PM at Freedom Plaza. This year's theme is "Walk in Our Shoes", a reminder that an injustice to one transgender person is an injustice to us all.

We are calling on you to stand with us in solidarity against transphobia and violence. Your donation, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in our fight for justice for A’nee and in laying her to rest. Please share this campaign and donate if you can.

Let's honor A’nee's memory by working together to create a world where no one has to live in fear because of their gender identity.

Thank you for your support.
