The law has a powerful role to play in bringing about the system change necessary to address the CLIMATE and ECOLOGICAL EMERGENCY.
What we've achieved so far
In October 2019 we descended on the Royal Courts of Justice with a giant pink banner: ‘Justice for All’. We distributed the Lawyers’ Declaration of Rebellion – a document inspired by Polly Higgins, Gandhi and the slavery abolitionist lawyers. Fahana Yamin, Richard Lord QC and Dr Gail Bradbrook gave inspiring speeches.
What's coming up
- XR Lawyers action, London, 28 February
- May Rebellion - XR Lawyers will have an important role in the Rebellion commencing 23 May. Why? Because we’re going to make a stand for climate justice
- we urgently need to recruit new lawyer rebels by hosting Heading for Extinction talks: we need to galvanise action across the legal profession.
If everyone gave £25, £50, 75 …
… XR Lawyers would be all set for our action on 28th February and our actions during the May Rebellion. Please give what you can right now so we can make a stand for climate justice on the 28th. And our pro bono activities - representing rebels in Court - generate expenses which must be met
