Each year, Jumpstart selects a Read for the Record campaign book that fosters language and social-emotional development, honors the diversity in our world, has a strong narrative, and appeals to young children. On Read for the Record day, this book is read around the country and world at events, schools, libraries, museums, and more. In 2020, Read for the Record engaged over 2.24 million readers.

 

Sharing high-quality picture books with young children is at the core of Jumpstart’s mission. Your donation will provide classrooms with a set of Read for the Record Special Edition books*, add quality, age-appropriate, and culturally diverse books to children’s home libraries, and engage adults in the meaningful experience of reading to children. This year’s event is taking place on October 28, 2021 and the book is Kat Zhang’s Amy Wu and the Patchwork Dragon.
