LawyerForBrother charged in acc. death of brother
Donation protected
One year and 5 days ago our families lives changed forever. My two brothers, my youngest and oldest were involved in a tragic accident that took the life of our older brother. There are unanswered questions regarding the other parties involvement/fault. But we do know Steven had absolutely no drugs or alcohol in his system. This was just an accident. A tragic accident. The devastation of our family, the trauma that Steven has experienced from this ACCIDENT he will have to live with is more than any punishment that could be inflicted by law. He lost his job of 7 years because he could no longer drive the route, he stopped driving long distances and has suffered PTSD. But still, 3 days shy of the one-year anniversary of the tragic event of our brothers passing, the Orange County District attorney's office, all on their own, decided to press charges against Steven for the death of our brother James. The letter came just 3 days after the anniversary, one letter to Steven, and one to my dad, asking if he wants to submit a statement in the case against Steven. My dad who first had to bury his own father, then 3 months later bury his first son and also worry about the mental health of his last son. We've all been through enough. None of us want Steven charged, we know it was an accident. Losing him for up to a year of jailtime will change him forever and lose all progress in the healing he is doing to combat the guilt and horror of this earthshattering event. With no criminal record, or history of this of any kind there is a chance the charges can be dropped with legal representation. The stakes are too high and too serious to go about this any other way. But of course, for something so serious it has a price with some lawyers quoting up to $20,000 to have the charge dismissed or reduced. With a lawyer the chances of this charge being dismissed goes up dramatically, otherwise the entire family could have to face a trial and relive the event in heartbreaking detail. We can't do that, Steven shouldn't have to do that. I know so many of you have asked about how Steven is, wishing healing for him, and at the time we didn't know he would need this kind of help but now he does. If you can donate anything it would help so much. Our immediate family is ready to go broke helping him and it's still not enough. Please help or share where you can and know that our entire family is grateful for your support during what has been the worst time of our lives. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Venmo donations will also be updated and incorporated/reflected into donation goal. @spierce0490 Thank you <3
