Lawyer for a victim of harassment at Harvard
Donation protected
A fellow graduate student and employee of Harvard University is facing ongoing, years-long sexual harassment that has prevented them from advancing their career and completing their research. Support from those in power in their field has been entirely lacking, isolating them and creating unhealthy working conditions. The worker must remain anonymous for fear of serious retaliation.
Friends and supporters of the graduate student are helping raise the funds urgently needed to cover legal fees associated with an ongoing Title IX investigation. The lump sum needed is $15,500 to help support the student worker through the rest of the investigation. The student worker needs to access legal counsel as soon as today to meet the next deadline in the investigation, so we encourage donations immediately so that we can get money dispensed to legal counsel for work towards this deadline.
The student worker has been struggling to respond to the hundreds of pages of paperwork that are part of Harvard’s process. In order to stay on top of the investigation deadlines, the worker has utilized legal counsel, but is unfortunately no longer able to access or afford financial aid for the lawyer.
Please donate as much as your means allow. Any amount helps. Even $10 will bring us closer to our goal.
All funds will go directly to legal counsel. No funds are collected by the GoFundMe organizers. The money being raised is not for the use of the UAW. Without these funds, the student worker may not be able to follow through with the investigation and will face personal and professional consequences beyond what they have already faced throughout their time at Harvard.
Any sharing of this link also helps. If you know of any funding sources for legal counsel, please reach out to the organizers. While we are grateful for community support and support from our labor siblings, we ask that if you are a manager or supervisor at Harvard University, to refrain from donating at this time.
