He arrived in the US at the tender age of two with his father, facing challenges most adults wouldn't be able to handle. Despite the initial difficulties, Danny thrived in the care of his legal guardian, Holly Diaz. In 2018, Holly and Danny fought to change Danny’s immigration status and he became a permanent resident of the United States. With the support of Danny’s biological father, Danny has lived with Holly in Michigan since 2018. Holly received legal guardianship of Danny in 2020. He is excelling in school, has made close friends, and embraced American culture. He is a bright, kind, and funny child who deserves to continue living and thriving in the life he and Holly have created together. Suddenly, Danny's world is being turned upside down. His birth mother, who has not been a part of his life for the past eight years, is now seeking to take him back to the Dominican Republic. This would uproot Danny from everything he knows and loves, taking him away from his support system, forcing him to adapt to a new language, culture, and environment at a crucial stage in his development. Danny's family is fighting tirelessly to keep him in the US. They believe it is in his best interest to remain in the stable and loving environment he has known for the past eight years.
